To be smart, it’s not enough to study at school or college. You also need to get used to doing things that can improve brain performance and hone your intelligence.
So here are a series of signs and habits of smart people. Check it out!
1. Critical Thinking

Quoting GEE, being critical, aka not taking the information you get for granted, but looking deeper is a sign of an intelligent person. Smart people always look for answers to their questions, even if they are random.
If you always ask “why” and “how”, and always learn something on an ongoing basis, it means you have intelligence.
2. Reading

Reading is a habit that can increase intelligence, broaden our horizons, increase our vocabulary, and provide a different and more open way of thinking. Reading can also improve your critical thinking and analyzing power.
3. Be Empathic

Empathy can indicate a person’s high level of intelligence. Because with an empathetic attitude, you can understand other people’s feelings, have mental flexibility, emotional intelligence, and a deep understanding of human nature.
Empathy also allows you to build strong connections to understand the world around us better.
4. Enjoying Sarcasm

Since stand-up comedy has boomed in Indonesia, especially if you’re a fan of the comics, you’ll hear more sarcasm or dark jokes. Well, the way you understand this style of comedy is a form of high intelligence.
This is because understanding and using sarcasm requires a certain level of mental strength. You have to understand the implied meaning of someone’s joke that might sound offensive or hurtful, even ironic.
5. Open-Minded

Being open to new ideas, having diverse perspectives, and being able to accept constructive feedback is also a form of intelligence.
6. Criticize Yourself

Quoting TGMP, intelligent people tend to criticize themselves more because they know themselves better and can challenge themselves.
One of the most visible characteristics of intelligent people is humility and self-awareness. They always admit that they don’t know, don’t always have the answers to all questions, are not afraid to criticize themselves because they are always open to learning.
